The Hitler Youth Badge

 

The Hitler Youth Badge, created in 1929, was awarded for various degrees of service to the Hitler Youth, with formal regulations for presentation as a decoration formalized in 1933.

In all, there were three classes of the Hitler Youth Badge

Most adult leaders of the Hitler Youth, in particular those holding the rank of Bannführer and above, automatically were awarded the standard Hitler Youth Badge. The badge was also frequently awarded to SS members who had some connection to the Hitler Youth.

The Golden Hitler Youth Honour Badge

(Goldenes Hitlerjugend Ehrenabzeichen)

 

The Golden Hitler Youth Honour Badge in wear

 

The Golden Hitler Youth Honour Badge (Goldenes Hitler-Jugend Ehrenabzeichen) was instituted by Baldur Benedikt von Schirach on the 23rd June 1934 as an award for those members of the Hitler Youth, its affiliate organizations, and the NSDAP who attended the Youth Rally in Potsdam on the 2nd October 1932, or had been a member of the Hitler Youth prior to the rally.

 

Award Criteria

Providing the member had accumulated five years of uninterrupted service in the Hitler Youth or NSDAP organizations following Hitler Youth service
